Come lunch with the bunch on January 29, 2020 from 11:30-1:00 pm at the Sunset Mountain Ridge Clubhouse located at 6940 E. Loma del Bribon, Tucson, Az.
We meet once a month for lunch with friends…and yet-to-meet friends. Lunch Bunch offers a monthly social gathering and learning activities to help support aging in place. Lunch Bunch is held monthly from 11:30-1:00 pm. on the last Wednesday of each month.
We have lots to celebrate this month. Join us in welcoming the new Sunrise Snap team, thank our incredible volunteers and say hello to our board members. And, for some added fun we are celebrating National Puzzle Day with a Puzzle Swap. Bring up to 5 gently used puzzles with all the pieces to share with your neighbors.
This is a great opportunity to get some new puzzles and share your old ones. Puzzles have been shown to boost our brain health and improve its functioning by enhancing concentration and memory. Puzzles also promote mental health through decreasing chronic stress, increasing feelings of well being and warding off depression. Some great reasons to celebrate.
Don’t forget to bring a brown bag lunch. Drinks and dessert provided.
Transportation is available by calling the Sunrise SNAP line at 520-437-9556.
If you would like to RSVP, please click the link below. Not required for participation.
Adapting homes to help us age in place is the topic for SNAP’s next education program — scheduled for Monday, January 27, 2020, at the Lutheran Church of the Foothills Activity Center. Program starts at 2 PM. Discussion, resource table and guest speakers will be available until 3:30 PM. The community is invited to this free education program.
Our information-rich programs offer a panel of speakers on a given theme related to aging in place, and SNAP’s August 5 info-expo session is no exception.
Joining us will be Elise Bajor from Jewish Family and Children’s Services, Shanelle Schmitz from Zack & Schmitz, PLC and Suzanne Morrison and Karen MacDonald from Interfaith Community Services.
Each panelist (or team) will offer insights related to our theme, “Legacy Planning for the Generations”:
- Elise Bajohr will report on Health Surrogates and Solo Senior and the importance of “Getting the Medical Care You Want”;
- Shanelle Schmitz will discuss the legal aspects of estate planning; and
- Suzanne Morrison and Karen MacDonald will review advanced directives and events and resources from the End of Life Care Partnerships.
There will be time for questions, an information table, as well as SNAP’s annual ice cream social to cool you off and ease your spirit while learning about these important aspects of aging.
The community is invited to attend on August 5, from 2-3:30 PM at Lutheran Church of the Foothills Activity Room. For information, email: email@example.com
Jill Jones, certified memory trainer, will present simple techniques to help develop the habit of focus. Join us:
