SNAP Insurance Helps Protect Volunteers

SNAP’s insurance coverage helps our volunteers in the event of an accident. Our Volunteer Accident policy through Philadelphia Insurance provides medical benefits above and beyond any personal health insurance coverage you may have. If you were to become injured in an accident while performing your volunteer duties (driving or other assignment), SNAP’s insurance would provide additional funds for medical treatment, hospitalization and licensed nursing care required as a result of the covered accident. There are also benefits for dental treatment and eyeglass repair or replacement.

In the event of an automobile accident while you are performing SNAP volunteer driving assignments, your own personal automobile insurance policy will be your primary source of coverage for any claim for property damage or personal injury to you, your passenger(s), or others.

It is a good idea to let your insurance carrier know you are performing occasional volunteer transportation services. This should not affect your premium, although all insurance companies are different
