SENIOR LIVING FACILITY TOURS
As we help residents age in place for as long as possible, there often are questions about senior living facilities in Tucson, for future planning needs. Tours began in 2016. In the Fall of 2016, we scheduled Facility Tours for a variety of senior living accommodations — independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities and memory care homes. One of the greatest advantages of these Tours is that it allowed opportunities to visit various facilities in a group, ask questions, and discuss individual thoughts or concerns with friends or neighbors.
The First Tour was Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 with tours to Atria Bell Court Gardens (a retirement community offering independent living) and Atria Campana del Rio (offering independent living, assisted living and life guidance memory care). To kick off the tours, Fletcher Kuhn, Executive Director of Atria Bell Court Gardens and Meredith Kuhn, Executive Director of Atria Campana Del Rio graciously offered to give a presentation on what things to consider when looking at Senior Living Facilities.
Some of the topics were:
– When should I move?
– What are the different types of senior living facilities?
– Financial Considerations
– How to make an educated selection
Additional facilities we visited: Villa Hermosa, Fellowship Square, Golden Hope Adult Care Home, Villas at Houghton, Brookdale Ventana and The Forum. Thank you to all these facilities that gave us excellent presentations and spent much time to show our groups around. Here’s one of the comments we received:
“Thank you so much for arranging the two splendid Atria tours, no mean feat. Lunch was delicious… The handouts to accompany the slide presentation are a good idea for reference, and Chris now has many additional notes in our copy of Gail Lawley’s book, “It’s Your Move”. We enjoyed our day out and already have plenty to consider before seeing the other
facilities.” – Elizabeth and Chris
